Since my school has no adoption textbook for students to use, I find my self wasting precious time making copies or trying to improvise my lesson because the copiers are broken instead of exploring lesson ideas. I have adopted unit packets which have helped me reduce the amount of times I'm at the copier. A one time stop at the copier per unit is all I need. Can't wait till I can transfer my unit into moodle!!
What a great idea transferring your unit into the Moodle Jeanet! What cool modules do you think you'll use to make your unit engaging and fun--along with the educational and interesting?
video clips, blogs, journal questions, quiz on moodle...
I have seven four-drawer file cabinets in my room to handle several grade levels and all the core subject areas as well as testing materials. If I didn't need class sets of paper, I could elimitate the need to store all that and save time making the class sets. I could use the extra space in my classroom and remove the clutter of eliminating piles of paper!
It is true Janet, the money spend in paper can well be use in other areas we know will add to our student success, such as parent involvement. I strongly believe that parent/community involvement should of been part of the 11 success and it wasn't. Every time the community is involve in school activities and in their child's learning it simply makes it easier to manage creating greater success among students. Moodle will add to the parent involvement piece but i still feel we need the one on one experience with our community and the money we well save from the paper can easier be use towards this goal.
I have always wanted to go electronic with my lessons. And, especially with assignments that students turn in. Wouldn't it be great to not have to collect any papers because all of your students have submitted their assignments electronically? Also, the assignments would be legible!
