In this section, it talked about building a network of partners and experts in order to make the technology programs work. In this area, I can see that our district is making positive gains. We are building teams of lead teachers and super-coaches for technology. I think as we grow with technology we will be able to develop showcases at different sites to model best practices, research lessons by other schools and reach out to other districts and states that have been using technology in the classroom for years. It is comforting to know that we are moving in the right direction.
I agree that we are moving in the right direction. Our school's fifth-graders just received their laptops a few weeks ago, and we are continuing to work out several glitches. However, I have felt very well supported along the way by our principal, our on-site tech coach, the district tech coaches, the librarian and my other team members.
We are moving in the right direction. We are supported by good tech people on campus (yeah Maggie and Cindy), not mention the districts work on providing us with professional development and IT support staff. We will only improve as we gain better accessibility and more computers in our schools.
I agree, I do believe that Sunnyside is moving in the right direction. Appendix A outlines a Roadmap Checklist, and Sunnyside can check off a bunch of those tasks! Way to go!
Can't argue with the thought that Sunnyside is headed in the right direction. But this is just the beginning, we have a 3 to 5 year time span to grow this thing and hopefully in the correct manner. I teach music, so far music teachers are not seeing any support in this direction which has tons of uses in the study of music. In fact the reason i am the tech at our school is because of the tech I personally use. See the end product at cdbaby, com put "The Sitting Bull Suite" in the search engine. That was done over ten years ago. My website is robfrancis1.com District music teachers will need support here too. Modern music curricula supports technology. SSUD has a 14 going 15 year old music curriculum for K-5 General music. Now, is there something wrong with this picture?
I must say that the support we have recieved has been great. I was especially impressed with the ammount of support we recieved on our laptop distribution days. I am very glad that the district decided to put this support team into effect and I don't think that any of the one to one computing would be possible withou their help.
