I think that the lesson falls in the Adaptation section of the integration in the curriculum part of the matrix for the teacher, and the Constructive/Goal directed section of the matrix for the students. The lesson has its merits, but realistically this would take up a lot of time in the classroom, I would not be able to spend this much time in the classroom on this lesson because it would take so much time away from other parts of the curriculum that I am required to cover in a year. This would be a great collaborative project that could be assigned for homework and the students are given a couple of weeks to do it on their own time. Also hard to see the progression as a student since it is added to each year, the only person who would see that is the teacher, or the class the following year.
