Weekly Bell Work Explanation and prompts

Bell Work:

Students will select an artwork by a famous artist (If not given a topic to search on Monday then students will select an artwork from a galery- could be a contemporary artist.  Ceramic class will select a container by an artist on the list under assignments.  4th and 5th grade are given artwork to respond to but may select a famous piece if they can copy it to their document by dragging it in).  Be sure to check copyright/use rights and make sure that it is an image they can use past it into their google doc., cite artist and the name of the piece.  Ceramic students be sure to use the list of artists on Ms. Hall’s Learn Page.

The following prompts will be used:  

    Monday: I see…

    Tuesday: I think…   

    Wednesday: compare and contrast this week’s work with last week's work

    Thursday:  I wonder…

    Friday:  I feel…  

4-5th grade:  They need to make a minimum of 4 specific sentences each day citing examples and reasoning from the visual text.

6-8th grade:  They need to make a minimum of 5 specific sentences each day citing examples and reasoning from the visual text.  

Be sure to title the documents:  BWK.month.monday date of week.first name.last name.grade.period  Then place it in your art/ceramics folder to share it with Ms. Hall. 

NOTE:  If bell work is not titled correctly and Ms. Hall can't find it when documents are graded your will not get credit for that week.  Bell work is worth 5 points/week it adds up so be sure to follow directions if you want credit.
