    In all classes we sing, dance, play/compose, read and write music to enabe learning of the enduring music concepts.

    1. We will be having a patriotic choir festival this year in November. Song sheets will be given to students by September 15th.

     

  • Rules/procedures/expectations

    Students gain knowledge of how to treat instruments, the gestures used for music study, and the general expectations to enable all students to learn the music content.

  • Kinder/1st Grade

    ELA and Math- The 1st weeks deal with counting, rhyming and the senses. 1st grade one of the ELA is fairy tale. The music lessons try to incorperate ELA/Math while keeping the integretity of the enduring music concepts.

  • 2nd Grade

    The enduring music standards for 2nd grade are note reading and form. The ELA CC standard is space and Math standard is length & measurement. The enduring music concepts are taught through CC ELA and Math. 

  • 3rd grade

    The CC ELA focus is on informational text and Math deals with measurement and length. The enduring concepts for music are incorperated with the ELA and math focus.

  • 4th grade

    Students demonstrate understanding of the dynamic symbols used in music to enable playing more expressively while incorperating the ELA focus of poetry.

  • 5th grade

    Students demonstrate understanding of enduring music concepts.

  • 6th Grade

    Students show understanding of enduring music concepts.
