Parent Conferences:
- Tuesday, October 21 1:15pm to 3:30pm
- Wednesday, October 22 1:15pm to 6:00pm
- Thursday, October 23 1:15pm to 3:30pm
You will be Leading your Conference. Your family will love to hear you talk about your accomplishments. Here are the 6 easy steps.
1. Schedule your Parent Conference. Add the Time/Date information to the Master Schedule on my desk. If you don't do it, I will.
2. Get the Conference Verification form signed and returned. Get your family to sign and return the Conference Verification form. Step 2 is worth 5 points.
3. Complete the Worksheet: Student-Led Conference PowerPoint. Step 3 is worth 25 points.
a. Record your Q1 grades and percentages from PowerSchool
b. Provide accurate, detailed reasons for each grade
c. Provide realistic goals for 2nd Quarter. Include detailed explanations of exactly what you will do to reach your Q2 goals
d. Once the worksheet is complete, I will select another student to conduct a peer review and provide you with feedback
e. Make any corrections and submit to me for approval
f. Once I approve your worksheet, transfer your data to your PowerPoint
4. Create your PowerPoint. Once I approve your Worksheet, click here for your Parent Conference template. Step 4 is worth 25 points.
a. Make a copy called, Parent Conference and save it to your Google Drive folder: Parent Conference
5. Practice, practice, practice. I will assign you to work with another student to practice your Conference PowerPoint.
a. You and your partner will take turns: you will be the Parent, while they present to you. Ask questions that your family will likely ask.
b. Your partner will be your Parent and listen to your presentation and ask questions.
6. Complete your actual Parent Conference on October 21, 22 or 23 worth 100 points.
For your students
Student Timeline PowerPoint. Each slide is date stamped. Show to your students on a daily basis to explain what must be completed each day.
Student PowerPoint Worksheet (Step 3 above). Do not allow students to the Parent Conference PowerPoint template (Step 4) until you approve their Worksheet.
Parent Conference PowerPoint template. (Step 4 above). Students can easily and quickly transfer their data from their worksheet to this Conference template.
